Its Primary!

On Tuesday morning I headed to the courthouse to cast my vote with my son in the lead. The mail-in ballot system Oregon uses is a benefit for voter turnout in our state however, I relished the sense of community my in-person voting experience fostered. As for the results of the elections I think Basic Rights Oregon summed them up nicely in the quote that follows.

"One of the most exciting primaries in recent Oregon history has come to a nail-biting end. Oregon has played a key role in the race for the Democratic Presidential nominee and Portlanders elected Sam Adams, the first openly gay mayor of a major city in the United States."
